Physical Appearance

7'11" tall, the Big Pink Tree is just that - a tree, which is pink. It has bark, branches, leaves, and occasionally (depending on season and prevailing weather conditions) even fruit... and all are some shade of pink. It's just the way it is. It moves by bouncing on its somewhat-springy root formation.

Personality and Interests

Nobody really knows how the tree's mind works, or even whether it truly has a mind. It is obsessed with keto and appears to have at least some medical knowledge (it was the tree who created the ointments to kill the the hallucinations).

It 'speaks' by rustling its branches. By some bizarre coincidence only the staff of the medibay can understand it. Quite how this works is also unknown. Keto says that it must be due to some sort of telepathy since the tree is his hallucination's hallucination and so must be connected to his mind. As for the rest of the staff....nobody knows.

History

The BPT first appeared during the hallucination epidemic aboard the BD. it is believed to have been hallucinated by one of Dr keto's hallucinations, and now firmly believes that he is its father.

Tragically (or fortunately depending on your viewpoint) the Tree was run over by Kayn in a Starbug. Peace reigned...until one of its seeds germinated. Now the tree is back and works in the medibay as a pharmacist and general dogsbody, putting up with the rest of the crew as only a cheerful, animated piece of wood can.
