Who will survive?

Major characters keep dying

A lone Hymenoptera warrior bug infiltrates BlueDwarf and starts killing the crew off one by one, the Hymenoptera lays eggs and the ship is infested with more Hymenoptera, who do a good job of killing the crew.

The reactor explodes, leaving a huge gaping hole in the ship, and as Dean flies the Raven to blow up a large Hymenoptera ship- the Raven is pelted with slime so that he cannot see where he is going and crashes into the Drive Room. The remaining two people left alive are Jay and Seymour, who die when the Hymenoptera ship cuts the entire ship apart with a massive laser. It is all revealed to be an AR simulation in which everyone failed by dying. But at least everyone is alive and the Blue Dwarf is not damaged.

Febuary

The ship experiences time slides, where ghostly images from the past haunt the crew, making the crew re-live the settings of past storylines. This is made worse when Amber sees herself being chained up in the future and decides to alter the BD's history by visiting a time slide when the BD was is construction and blowing it up. This caused an alternate reality where everyone had normal jobs on Earth. As the BD was never launched, the Hymenoptera were unknown, so the growing McDonalds Army ally with them to wipe out any other Scottish McDonalds. The Hymenoptera are given robotic exoskeletons with gun attachments, which helps them to invade Edinburgh. The Hymenoptera go overboard and start to flatten other English cities and beam aboard civilians to their large mothership. This allows many of the BD crew to meet each other where they vaguely recognise each other. Dean, Jay and Efof follow the Hymenoptera mothership in Space Eagles and as the ship flies past Jupiter, a temporal anomaly is noticed where the Blue Dwarf was blown up. Jay shoots this, which forms a temporal shockwave that restores the timeline.

Starship wars

The Blue Dwarf battles the USS Enterprise

After making repairs to the Blue Dwarf, the crew take part in a TV show called 'Starship Wars' where they have to battle a series of holographic ships and their crews. First starting with a skirmish with Futurama's Planet Express ship, then the crew board the USS Enterprise from Star Trek and whip the crew's holographic ass's.

April

In the final round of the 'Starship Wars', the crew board a Holographic "Event Horizon" from the film of the same name, which creates their worst fears into holographic form. When they finally plant the explosives necessary to destroy the ship, they fail to trigger - forcing the teams to abandon the ship so that the Blue Dwarf can destroy it from outside.

'Starship Wars' won, the crew relax. Meanwhile, far away and unknown to the Dwarf, a Hymenopterran homeworld is destroyed by an unknown invading force. Niples visits Wannie Th'Sane for therapy. Wannie gives him some 'TLC', which actually turns out to be 'THC'. Seymour heads out of the office and goes to visit Jenny Bond in her quarters, where he almost walks in on her and Chris Harris. Fortunately he's still not entirely alert and leaves without many suspicions. Jenny and Chris spend the night together.

Meanwhile, Severn gives scientist Dr Wowbagger his card and requests the raw materials to build a full-grown human adult. Wowbagger refuses, then warns the rest of the bar about the dangers of the anti-flu cocktails that Mk 6 has been mixing. It's too late, however, and a brawl begins when Jay takes offence at a crewmember hitting on Alota. The brawl escalates, and Phil uses his personal sidearm on the brawlers, causing them all to believe that they are celebrities. The brawl finally ends when everybody is sprayed with coffee, snapping them out of it, and Parrott's is temporarily closed for repairs.

The next morning, Wowbagger wakes up after a fitful night's sleep and remembers that he's met Severn before, years ago, though the details of his memory are hazy. At the same time, Lawrence Trisees wakes up from the surgery that attached a robotic right arm and robotic legs to him. He tells Rufus that they have to save Shakespeare and Coffey, without explaining further.

In the often-unused mining department, miner Idwal gleefully looks through all the hoarded supplies of the last four years. A staff meeting is called. The Dwarf has received orders to investigate a large energy explosion at the suspected Hymenopterran homeworld. Seymour is not present, lounging around his quarters in his pyjamas while hunting for food due to the THC pills he has taken.

May

Upon arriving in the Hymenoptera home system, the crew find a fleet of dead Hymenoptera ships, one destroyed planet and one that has been almost entirely decimated, with the exception of one underground complex. A team is sent down to investigate in a new off-road vehicle, nicknamed the Rapid Alien Insect Destroyer (RAID). They find dead Hymenoptera piled everywhere.

Idwal heads for a shuttle to go and investigate the planetary rubble, escorted by John Keats. They pick up some distant, uncertain readings on their scanners. The Endymion is destroyed by micro-meteorites, its shield battery having been removed for repairs by Severn, unknown to Keats. Amber and Jack, seeing the ship destroyed but not able to contact Keats due to his weakened nanos, head out in a Midget to see if they can find him.

Trisees plans a rescue mission. In a brief flashback, we see Coffey, Shakespeare and Trisees trapped on a ship called the Ochre Dwarf, with Trisees escaping seconds before its destruction.

The team on the Hymenopterran planet discover the corpse of a Hymenopterran beetle, the size of an elephant, killed by a poisonous sting that is still sticking out of its side. They are distracted by the wreckage of the Endymion crashing into a nearby mountainside, and when they try to contact the Dwarf to find out what's happening, find that a jamming signal is coming from the underground complex, so they head towards it.

Inside the Hymenopterran mound Jay, Phil and Seymour are ambushed by a shadowy humanoid figure able to shoot long, stinging darts out of its palms. It attacks them and almost kills them, but they are saved by the arrival of four Hymenoptera. The humanoid kills three with ease, but is pinned by the fourth. It escapes by vanishing through it, like a ghost, killing it, and then fleeing through a wall. The team are shocked. Another Hymenoptera enters the room and stabs Jay at the base of the neck, connecting him to the Hive mind. They ask for help. Outside the mound, the rest of the team are attacked by more of the ghostly humanoids. At the same time, a wraithlike ship flies straight through the Blue Dwarf, dropping invading humanoids on various decks. Idwal's mining survey ship and Amber and Jack's Midget are similarly invaded.

Jay and the others agree to an alliance with the Hymenoptera against their new enemy. They head up to the surface on Hymenopterran bugs and rescue the rest of the team, warning the Blue Dwarf of the impending hostilities before speeding off towards the ship, Chris's GunBlade destroyed by a humanoid's sting. Amber and Jack escape from the Midget in a pod moments before it crashes, exploding. They touch down on some kind of gigantic weapons system, which turns out to be a cannon built to destroy the Hymenopterran homeworld. They decide to blow it up rather than risk the new aliens working out how to move it and destroy any more worlds.

An unidentified man stumbles into the medibay while Trisees and Wildflower are working there, and dies. He drops what looks like a treasure map, and Wildflower wants to follow it.

Idwal and the rescued Keats crash into the side of the alien weapon, unknown to Amber and Jack and unaware themselves that Amber and Jack are still alive. They meet up after Idwal and Keats are stained black from some broken gas canisters, and discover some Hymenopterran warriors that have arrived to aid them in destroying the cannon.

The away team are ambushed by more humanoids, the RAID is hijacked and Chris Harris is speared with a stinger when he tries to recover it. Melissa and Kanako persuade Dean to take them down to the planet in the Raven along with medical supplies, and patch Chris up. Melissa, Kanako, Chris and Dean head back to the Dwarf on the Raven. The remaining away team members find the last remnants of the destroyed Malekian civilisation, which the Hymenoptera destroyed. They see some of the humanoid aliens walking out of the ruined city and torturing a Hymenoptera. Jay informs them that the humanoid aliens discovered the Malekian technology after it had been left abandoned for years and began using it against the Hymenoptera. They recover the RAID at the expense of Mk 6, whose body is destroyed and whose brain shuts down. They keep it and head back to the Dwarf.

Aboard the Dwarf, one of the intruders reveals that they are after the wormhole drive. The medibay staff manage to put together an antivenom against the aliens' stingers, which is needed because the intruders are by now all over the ship. Mk 6 is resurrected as Mk 7 by Severn. Trisees discovers that electricity can kill the aliens, and spreads that information. Meanwhile, Keto informs Jenny that she is pregnant, but does not tell her the father, preferring to keep that knowledge for blackmail.

The team on the cannon succeed in blowing it up and escaping in the nick of time, but only after discovering that there is a second planet-destroying weapon elsewhere, within range of Earth. They head back to the Dwarf. As they do so Trisees, Wildflower and Jenny Bond leave the Dwarf on a Starbug, hunting for the treasure marked on the map, which has Trisees very excited for some unknown reason.

A small team is dispatched to examine a distress signal coming from the planet. It turns out to be a crashed ship, where the half-dozen survivors have all gone into stasis. They are recovered, along with Shaine O'Riley, a semi-psychotic Irishman.

June

The aliens succeed in destroying the wormhole drive, leaving it requiring repairs for at least two weeks. Jay reveals that the aliens were originally created by the Hymenoptera, a failed experiment. They were then treated as slaves, but rebelled and have been fighting to kill them all ever since. The Hymenoptera bring some more troops on board the Dwarf, supposedly to help with the battle. Shaine O'Riley signs up to be Health and Safety Inspector.

A staff meeting is called to tell everybody about the second planet cannon. The plan is to spread out in Starbugs to search for it, covering a wider area than the Dwarf could without its wormhole drive. Several different teams head out. Some Hymenoptera join Jay, Niples, Callum, Jack and Melissa on their shuttle. The Hymenoptera, on Jay's orders, attack a gelf craft to seek any information. The others are appalled. The gelf has no information, but reveals that it and many others were also created by the Hymenoptera.

The Hymenoptera team crash land on a planet, later joined by Chris Harris and Kanako, and begin scouting around for any information. Jack and Seymour discover a colony of various genetically mixed creations, who set a series of tasks for them to perform.

Trisees, Wildflower and Jenny land on the desert planet marked on the map and set out to find the treasure. Buried deep in a cave, they find a time-drive device, which they grab and make their escape from the cave which collapses around them.

July

Jay orders the Hymenoptera to destroy a village of gelfs in his search for information, which they do until Callum brings Jay briefly to his senses by mentioning Alota and Vanessa. Jay is becoming ever more detached. Niples and Jack complete their challenges and escape, freeing a young woman called Athena who had been held captive.

Niples, Jack, Athena, Jay and Callum meet back up at the Starbug and take off. They are attacked by the gelfs and the wraithlike aliens (the 'Anti-noptera'), but Jay contacts the Hymenoptera hive and a giant vessel destroys both gelfs and Antinopterran ship.

August

Chris and Kanako escape on their own ship, barely avoiding the acid raining down. Once they are out of the atmosphere, Chris takes a nap and awakens to discover that the ship is heavily damaged and Kanako has vanished. With the engines damaged, he crashes the ship into the engineering section of Blue Dwarf.

Efof and Mk 7 decide, on a hunch of Efof's, to scan a nearby planet to see if it is hollow. It is, inhabited by the Antinoptera, and they come under attack. The Blue Dwarf jumps in with its repaired wormhole drive, all cannons blazing, to save them. With the aid of Jay and the Hymenoptera, they electrocute the majority of the Antinopterran ships, causing them to phase back into existence and be destroyed by the Dwarf's firing. Chris and Jack land on the planet to destroy the weapon, where they are abandoned by Jay.

Amber reveals that the lump at the top of her spine is spreading into her brain, altering her. Melissa and Kanako, held prisoner on the alien planet, try to escape and are attacked by one of the Antinoptera. Chris and Jack arrive, but not in time to prevent Melissa's arm being damaged and Kanako being mortally wounded. Amber, the only pilot left on the Dwarf still able to fly, takes a ship down to pick up the four on the planet, Jack activating a series of explosives as they leave and destroying the Antinopterran base.

The Antinoptera destroyed, Jay turns on the Blue Dwarf and tells the Blue Dwarf that it has 24 hours to get out of Hymenopterran space or it will be destroyed. He leaves the ship to go with the Hymenoptera, his conscience now replaced with Evil Jay's from a parallel universe. Johnny B Goode tries to stop him, but has his cybernetic limbs cut off as a result and is left lying on the floor. Kanako dies in the medibay, and Jack and Chris head out after Jay. Jay disables their ship, then destroys Plebe before leaving with a warning not to try and stop him.

Alota, having listened in to the communications, picks Chris and Jack up. Dean picks up the stranded Efof, Mk 7 and Katz, Mk 7's 'sister', and heads off to Jay's last known position as well.

Trisees, Jenny and Wildflower discover that the Dwarf has left the planet that they were on, but manage to hook up the time drive to their Starbug and return to before it left, leaving the crew unaware that they were ever missing.

Alota, Jack and Chris locate Jay's ship and tell the Raven and the Dwarf to meet them there. They board, and split up to search for Jay. Jack is found by Jay, who attacks him with a sword.

The Hymenoptera destory Earth

The Hymenoptera, under the command of Evil-Jay, beat the Space Corps fleet and destroy Earth

Jay is named emperor of the Hymenoptera, and his army gets stronger. He takes position on the mothership of a Hymenopteran fleet. With the galaxy at war, Seymour decides to go on holiday. Unfortunately Amber Febuggure sees him with a packed suitcase and invited herself along. They go to New Ibiza and stay at Queen Brittany's royal palace. A man with bad teeth sells Amber son drugs she can't refuse and her mood swings worsen.

Jay fights with Jack and his wife Alota, after a brutal attack Jack is badly wounded but manages to stab Jay in the leg. The pain spurs Jay on, claiming to enjoy the bloodshed. Backed up by Hymenopteran soldiers that obey his command, Jay orders them off his ship, and boasts he will destroy New Ibiza.
Mk7 and Efof manage to destroy a Hymenoptera turret by ramming a Starbug into it. They leap out into space before impact and ride the shockwave before getting picked up by Dean in the Raven.

Customs officers at New Ibiza find Callum Kotchanski and a stashed bag of illegal bliss on the Starbug Seymour had arrived on, and arrest them both until they are bailed by Jenny Bond. Amber is consumed by hate, constantly coughing up black goo. The Hymenoptera invade new Ibiza lead by Jay overseeing the operation. Jay recognises Amber in one of her dark moods and brings her to his ship. Her life on the Blue Dwarf forgotten, Jay realises he can manipulate Amber to work for him. New Ibiza is bombed by large eggs that hatch into massive Hymenoptera monsters, which chase Seymour, Jenny and Callum until they escape the planet just in time before it is totally destroyed by Jay's Hymenopteran mothership the “Thorax”.

Jay goes on to destroy the Aeron/Eniram homeworld, and makes Earth the next target. Callum and NSD replace the Blue Dwarf's missile warheads with alcohol in preparation for a fight.

After a battle of epic proportions, Jay's fleet destroys Earth. The Blue Dwarf are unable to do anything. Jay's wife Alota meets him on the bridge of the thorax and communicates to the real Jay through the collective conscience of the Hymenoptera. This sets the real Jay loose, but is too late to save his wife Alota from becoming killed.

October

With Earth gone, the thousands of humans that escaped are made refugees. Seymour and Queen Brittany try to find homes for them, whilst the Blue Dwarf discuss a plan to destroy the remaining Hymenopteran fleet.

Jenny blackmails Seymour when she reveals she is carrying his unborn child, and gets him to pay for the best doctor available.

Amber is imprisoned on deck 13 for helping Jay destroy Earth, but Jay himself is wanted by the Space Corps as a criminal, despite being back to his normal self. Queen Brittany persuades Seymour to hand Jay over, which he fails to do when Jay and Phil Febuggure knock him out and tie him up.

Nov

With Jay still unwilling to surrender, the Space Corps send the battle cruiser “SCV Manchester United” after the Blue Dwarf and take him by force. A small away-team goes onto the Space Corps battle cruiser to try and sabotage their vessel, but end up being taken prisoner.
The Blue Dwarf is also under attack from ships full of refugees from the destroyed Earth, who are desperate to board and steal their food.

Jed Calvert is introduced as a freelancing cowboy trader, on an adventure to made a quick buck.

Dec

Efof is subjected to many tests by the crew of the “SCV  Manchester United”, being the only Ffionian they have ever seen. They cut him open and remove organs to test his pain threshold. Efof and the other prisoners are finally liberated by Jay and Tara.

Amber (who is still in prison) is enlisted into the canaries.

Seymour needs some more fruit and veg for his restaurant, and with Earth gone, he has to go “hunting” in the Arboretum with Mk7. They find herds of vicious fruits.

Jenny Bond goes into false labour and has a big poo instead of a baby. She has the real baby a short time later but Chris Harris believes he is the father, and isn't very happy about it.
