Red Dwarf is 20!

Red Dwarf 20th Anniversary

Go see the official site for what they've got planned

Red Dwarf is 20 years old this year! It started in 1988, a time when Margaret Thatcher is Prime Minister, The Only Way Is Up is Britain’s best-selling single, and a new series starts on BBC2 - one that combines comedy and scifi - two things that many people say should never be combined.

At the time of writing this article, The official Red Dwarf website is counting down to something special. I've looked on some other fan sites and nobody seems to know what they're counting down to.

But whatever it is will happen on 4:00pm on Monday, 25th February.

I can't wait!

The Official Red Dwarf website is counting down to something special. Speculations on what it is?

Maybe it's to announce that there's a new series of Hyperdrive, where they will actually discover the Red Dwarf, and set itself as an ACTUAL sequel to Red Dwarf - how many people do you reckon that will piss off?

I reckon it's something like a new book, or maybe some audio books read by the actors?

It could just be a new site layout. :|

A new site layout isn't such great news and surely doesn't deserve a countdown. They have currently been really working hard with new DVD releases, and the special edition mobisodes and didnt have a countdown for either, so I'm thinking this is something mroe special.

Otherwise I'll be very dissapointed.

I'm sorry i'm being pessimistic, I love Red Dwarf! I really do, I just find myself losing faith in GrantNaylor lately. They promised us a movie we never got several times, they promised us a ninth season we never got. They've been so quiet of late, I never look at the site anymore because it's never got any RD news on it.

*sigh*

Hopefully it will be awesome news though, like a new season or a spinoff or something! :)

A new RD spinoff with the writers of Hyperdrive! (how many people will that piss off?).
Not sure how excited I'd be over new material. The christmas special edition mobisode was so dissapointing, it was practically for kids.

I'd be happy even if they crossed over Red Dwarf with tales of the riverbank, actually made the movie or just turned the whole series into a cartoon. Also long as it's Red Dwarf I'd watch it.
