Keto looked up from where he was sitting at a desk, hunched over some paperwork.
"Ah, Miss Cleavage," he said, "Why was I not informed sooner that the normal laws of the ship do not apply to you?"
"What?" asked Tara.
"What I mean to say is, how is it that you are able to overcome certain problems that the rest of us aren't, particularly with regard to medical machinery?"
"Huh?" repeated Tara, still confused. Keto sighed.
"Allow me to put this in terms that you can understand," he
said, "Ahem. How the hell are we supposed to do a DNA test with no smegging power!?"
"Ah."
"Yes. Ah. Perhaps if we looked really, really hard at your blood we could see your genetic sequences, hmm? Play spot the difference with your DNA? Analyse something it took years for machines to read with our naked eyes?"
"Or perhaps," called over Sean from the other side of the
medibay, "You could stop being sarcastic and work out a way to do something useful?"
There was a stony silence as Keto turned everso slowly on his heel and glared at the interloper in his medibay.
"I was only saying!" said Sean defensively, turning back to his work.

Medi-bay
The medi-bay (or, as Doctor Keto always insists, the medibay) is a small collection of rooms designed for the treatment and containment of any injuries or illnesses that the Blue Dwarf crew might suffer.
The main medical room is primarily a ward, with several rows of medical bunks and associated monitoring equipment along the walls. Doctor Keto's office, the medical supply room and the medical laboratory all leads off from this main ward room. The medical laboratory, the supply room, Keto's office and, to be honest, most of the main ward itself have been filled with shelves and cabinets containing some of Doctor Keto's ointments. There is no doubt that most, if not all, medical conditions can be treated by one of these ointments...the trouble is locating which one. Application of the wrong ointment has been known to have undesirable (and unpredictable) consequences.
A small corner of the main ward has been reserved for a large plant pot, which serves as the Big Pink Tree's quarters, much to Doctor Keto's annoyance.
