His musings were however, rudely interuppted by the screaming of the civilians outside. Johnny glanced out.
"SMEG!!" he yelled "THE HYMENOPTERA HAVE BOARDED!!!"

Civilian
The civilian population of the Blue Dwarf is varied. The Blue Dwarf is not normally suitable for families to live on, or for people to visit, however it does have a significant number of people living aboard that do not directly contribute to the function of the ship. Yet some of these people are vitally important. These are shop workers, bar staff, restaurant staff, cleaners, hairdressers and people who work in other parts of the service industry.
It would be difficult for civilians on-board to not have jobs, as they would have no accommodation. But yet a small portion of homeless humans, aliens and gelfs have snook aboard the Blue Dwarf looking for jobs but not finding any have had to live in the shadows, stealing things from the cargo decks and pickpocketing people on the Promenade. Organised gangs have formed, and started running seedy bars, nightclubs and strip-joints down at the seedy end of the Promenade.
These people keep the Security Department extremely busy.
