Then Jay noticed something that had changed recently. Some of the Starbugs were propped on bricks, and the Space Eagles had their radio's stolen. Most of all, one was missing.
"Jay to Security... Harris we've had a Starbug stolen, looks like maybe some chavs have gone for a joyride?"

Starbug
The Starbug is a class 2 transport vessel, suitable for many occasions. It's an all purpose medium sized vessel, suitable for transporting passengers or cargo over short or long distances. It has a much longer range than a Blue Midget and has a far larger hold, making this the ideal choice for transportation of goods, or for ferrying people who would like a bit more space than the cramped Blue Midget.
Starbugs are very versatile, the standard model is very basic, but they can be equipped with many different types of weapons, or technology required for the current mission. They can be equipped with a star-drive for long-distance travel, propellers for underwater propulsion, or ground transportation with retractable caterpillar tracks.
Inside there is space for a small medical suite, crew quarters, a kitchen and a four-man bridge.
The basic model doesn't come with a shield generaor, but this doesn't normally matter because the outer hull is made from the same thing they make black box recorders out of.
Starbugs can be equipped with a cloaking device, but this has a huge drain on power and cannot be sustained for very long. Also it is very expensive and so not fitted to all models.
The Starbugs continue to be a useful craft, and have been useful for many tasks including protecting the Blue Dwarf during spacebattles.
